Even healthy children need
routine medical and dental visits!

What is a Child and Teen Checkup?

Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) are routine well-child exams. They are a benefit for children under 21 who are enrolled in MA or South Country Health Alliance. These checkups include:

  • Information about good physical and mental health
  • Time to ask questions and get answers about your child's health, behavior and development
  • Time to discuss thoughts, feelings and relationships
  • A complete physical exam
  • Hearing and vision checks
  • Checks on development and growth
  • Lab tests, including lead tests for toddlers
  • Immunizations
  • Fluoride varnish treatments for certain ages
  • Referrals to the dentist

Why are Child and Teen Checkups important?

  • Regular health and dental checks help keep children healthy by finding and treating any health problems early.
  • Children can get tested for exposure to lead and other diseases.
  • Parents and children can get information about healthy lifestyles.
  • Children can get regular checkups at the dentist.
  • Teens and young adults can learn to take charge of their own health, with family support.
